Managing Transitions for Adults with ADHD

To the Adult ADHD mind, transition can be an obstacle. Transitioning is when your attention has to shift focus from one focus to another. The inability to shift from task to task can lead to frustration and overwhelm. The good news is there are things that Adults with ADHD can do to deal with transitioning, diminish the feelings of overwhelm, and improve your coping skills
1.    Develop a specific routine/structure so your mind can get used to doing specific things at specific times.

2.    Write out your daily activities/schedule on a white board or calendar the night before. Review them at the beginning of the day so you will know what to except.

3.    Schedule 10-15 minutes in between your project/tasks.  This will give you time to think about what you were just working on and mentally prep you for the next project/task
