Organizing Strategies for Adults with ADD/ADHD

Organizing is one of the biggest challenges that an adult with ADD/ADHD can face. If you are one of these individual, the thought of getting organized whether it be at home or at work, may leave you feeling overwhelmed.

The following strategies may assist you in organizing various aspects of your life.

Make organization a commitment

Once you get a room in your home organized, take a few minutes before scrambling out the door to putting things back in their place. If you take extra few minutes each day to keep things neat and tidy, it will not only save you time, you will have less things to do later.

Take One Section At A Time

If you have one room in your home that looks like a hurricane hit it, instead of getting overwhelmed about cleaning the whole room at once, just take one section at a time

One in One Out Rule- Adopt the one in, one out rule

This is where you make a commitment to get rid of one item every time you bring a new one into a space. For instance, if you buy a new pair of shoes, donate your old worn out pair
