As women with ADHD, you may feel drained, weary and you feel like your life is out of control.  You have so much to do and so many people expecting things from you. You have so many decisions and so many distractions.  You are watching your goals fall to the waste side.  You are so caught up in the chaos of life you are never sure which way you are heading. You feel lost and paralyzed. As women with ADHD I used to feel this way to, it led me to feel off balance physically, mentally and spiritually. But I learned how to take control of my life and so can you.  Whenever you feel lost and overwhelmed by life, use these strategies I used to regain your balance and life.

Write Your Personal Mission Statement – A personal mission statement can be a life line when you are feeling lost. It can assist you to get back on track reminding you of your values and principles that matter most to you. If your goals are producing anything besides than the vision of your mission statement, then go back and tweak or write up new goals that assist you to bring your vision to life. If you don’t have a mission statement, write yours today, review it often and revise it from time to time.

Wake Up Early– Do you find yourself starting work as soon as you wake up? You may have thought that if you tried this, you would be more productive. However, you feel less focused, tried and possibly hungry because you skipped breakfast. Try waking up fifteen minutes early morning in order to pause and mindfully being your day. During this time you may meditate, journal or just sit in silence. Your senses of well being will increase so will your sense of direction and productivity.

Manage Your Energy Instead of Time – One of the complaints of women with ADHD who are overworked is not having enough hours in a day to get everything done. Maybe it is how much time you are spending on one task but it also can be how you are managing your energy? In other words, are you incorporating techniques to boost your energy?  For example, commit to take a break every ten minutes, meditate or take a brisk walk.
